The Function and Design of Umbrella Tips

Umbrella tips are typically used to secure the umbrella canopy to the end of the umbrella ribs and can extend beyond the edge of the canopy. They can be made of plastic, wood, or metal and can be locked or glued onto the umbrella ribs. Depending on customer color preferences, the tips can be electroplated, painted, or made with colored plastic. In recent years, umbrella tips and ribs can be formed together as a single piece to save on production costs. Due to safety reasons, the tips on adult umbrellas and children's rain umbrellas are designed to be spherical, especially for ODM umbrella and OEM umbrella.
