Umbrella accessories

Generally, it is common to see accessories such as poppers, zippers, metal plaque, rubber tabs, ribbons, woven labels and woven straps to be attached on digital printing umbrella, wooden stick umbrella, ladies walking umbrella, hand mad umbrella, logo umbrella, advertising umbrella, personalized umbrella and customized umbrella etc.

Umbrella design

• Ribbon: There are many different types made with various materials. Polyester Stain Ribbon, Nylon Satin Ribbon and Organza are commonly used in umbrella. Generally, they are attached on the edge of panel to decorate the umbrella. This process is very common in customized umbrella in Japanese market.
• Reflective strip: It can reflect light at night to increase one’s safety when use. It is also very popular for custom design umbrellas.

Tie band

• Spring snap: Spring snap are a set of small fused discs typically used on fabrics. It can be used to combine materials with different strength and toughness, e.g. attaching fabric with leather. It can be either functional or just decorative.
  • The spring snap contains 4 components: the female part includes a cap and socket attached to the upper part of the fabric, and the male part includes a stud and post attached to the under part of the fabric. The cap part can be customized to have a logo on it.
  • Color: The common colors are Nickel, Black Nickel, Bronze, and golden etc.
  • Material: The common materials are copper, iron, alloy, and plastic, etc.
• Velcro: It uses two sides to attach together. One side has tiny hooks whilst the other feature loops. Velcro adopted this technology and are commonly made with nylon and polyester. Velcro has great strength, and is low in maintenance. One of its greatest advantages is the ease of use. The hook and loop are locked together with just a press of the fabric.
• Plaque: It can provide some important information on product. Generally, you can see a plaque attached on tie band or overcase. The most common materials are rubber, alloy or epoxy.

On the overcast

Generally, the overcase is required for folding umbrella production. It it not only for visual effect but also to avoid the backpack getting wet when putting umbrella into it. The common overcase style are cuff case, V-split case, zipper case and strap type case.

• Zipper-by material:
  1. Coil Zipper: mostly made of nylon. The shape of the zipper teeth is shown in the diagram.
  2. Metal Zipper: Common colors are bronze, silver, nickel, copper and gold, etc.
  3. Plastic Zipper: It is injected with a harder material and implanted on the zipper tape. The zipper teeth have strong lateral pull & high resistance to UV rays.
• Woven label: The common weaving label material is 100% polyester (flat weave) / 100% nylon (satin weave).
• Buckle: mostly used in the strap-type overcover of a walker umbrella, and the length of the strap can be adjusted when used.
